The Cyber & Intelligence Solutions team is responsible for MasterCard’s safety and security related product development efforts to protect the integrity of the electronic payment system as well as ensure payments are convenient yet secure. The products are primarily focused on Cyber Security, authentication, fraud prevention, risk mitigation and dispute resolution across all payment channels as well as all stakeholders, issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors, and consumers. The key objectives of the solutions are to prove identity, reduce abandonments, reduce fraud, increase approval rates, and secure the payments ecosystem.

We're looking for talented and accomplished Software Engineer to join our SRE team as we develop advanced technologies and applications that are revolutionizing payments, while delivering unparalleled values and customer experience.

Role:
• Work alongside development, operations, and AI teams to design and build resilient, scalable services, and deliver automated solutions
• Strong ownership of the SRE team’s analysis and implementation, deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies including hardware, operating system, and build
• Analyze and synthesize production events and outcome to provide insights that drive building solutions to improve reliability, operability, and customer experience of applications, platforms, functions, and services.
• Focus on the resilience aspect of architecture and design to achieve availably, scalability and performance
• Enable operations excellence by building tools and capabilities for observability, failure predication and prevention, failure detection and mitigation, as well as operational reliability and efficiency. Areas include but not limited to CI/CI Pipeline Management, Monitoring & Alerting Automation, Incident Management & Response automation, AI-driven monitoring & Incident Response, and AI-powered optimization.
• Participate in production incident calls & escalation as an authoritative product and technology SME and decision maker

About You:
• Obsessed with bringing software engineering principles to infrastructure and operations problems to create and operate highly scalable and reliable applications and systems.
• Passionate about delivering the best customer experience through engineering and operations excellency, focusing on building, and improving resiliency, performance, scale, operability, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with on-premise machines and cloud platforms like PCF, AWS, Azure, serverless technology, NoSQL databases, micro-service design.
• Strong knowledge of CI/C, DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.) and version control systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Bash for scripting automation tasks.
• Experience designing scalable fault tolerant platforms that are resilient to infrastructure failure.
• Ability to integrate machine learning models into infrastructure for automation and predictive monitoring.
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk and alerting frameworks.
• Experience with building and automating scalable, reliable, and self-healing systems.
• Knowledge of network security, firewall configuration, and security policies (e.g., TLS/SSL, access control).
• Experience with security automation tools such as HashiCorp Vault, and other identity and access management systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with development, operations, and QA teams.

Preferred – experience in these areas:
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
• Experience with automation in large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience working with both microservices and monolith architecture.
• Familiar with AI/ML-driven infrastructure optimization
• IT Service Management/Operations
• Infrastructure and platform knowledge/experience, especially F5 BIG-IP, including LTM (Local Traffic Manager), GTM (Global Traffic Manager), and iRules scripting.
• Understanding of load balancing strategies, SSL termination, and traffic management for high availability systems.
• Experience with Akamai and Nginx

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
