The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE,  Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.

We are looking for a Technical Director to lead the development of new and existing enterprise products involving the latest in Malware Detection and other Security technologies. This person will build alongside a multi-site team while seeding the technology and software to achieve the roadmap.

The position will build on following responsibilities:

• Design, develop and test software for information management and security domains
• Mentor and continually build technical capability across a global development team
• Develop and execute technical software and development strategy for enterprise applications and
  systems, based on a business roadmap
• Work closely with our Engineering Management, Product Management and Executive teams to
  define the Product strategy to develop the next generation products and services
• Explain the product and features to a global audience

The perfect candidate for this role will have a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility over the course of their career.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related discipline. MS is a plus
• 10+ years of demonstrated success in technical leading an enterprise-class software development organizations in a fast paced, start-up environment
• 5+ years of using telemetry and metrics to drive product and technology excellence
• Full understanding of existing technologies, emerging standards and
  engineering best practices in the following domains:
  • Security and Risk Management with emphases on Intrusion and Malware detection
  • Malware lifecycle and its intersection with information management
  • Security Architecture and Engineering
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Security Assessment

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in Agile development methodologies including unit testing and TDD (test-driven development)
• Experience delivering into cloud-based environments using standard CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Spinnaker, SonarQube) and best practices
• Experience with cloud IaaS/PaaS and Microservices
• Experience in developing applications with platform services like databases in AWS and Azure
• Demonstrated knowledge of algorithms and design patterns
• Working knowledge of the market and partner ecosystem in various security domains
• Working knowledge of public sector and government initiatives for information security with ability to get clearance required for such work
• Mastery in fundamentals of programming and/or debugging skills in C++, C #, Python and/or Java, JavaScript and AngularJS
• Proficiency in API fundamentals and best practices
• Knowledge of databases and SQL
• Knowledge of operating Systems: LINUX/UNIX Object Oriented Language· Agile Process
