Web Application Security Role

Security Engineers fuel solutions to ensure enterprise security deployments make the deepest impact possible across an organization. They solve organizations’ most challenging problems, including the ones they didn't know existed. They are self-motivated, have an insatiable thirst to learn new technologies and thrive in a fast paced environment. Lastly, they feel comfortable mastering new technologies and come from a variety of business, analytic and technology backgrounds.    This position will work on the customer's DOTCOM team which is responsible for securing and monitoring the customer's web applications and ensuring the security of the data within those applications. The ultimate goal of this position is to ensure a secure web presence for the customer through engineering and architecting secure solutions and monitoring and mitigating attacks on public facing web applications.   Role and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure internal and external data security related to web application's and DOTCOM functions, adhering to best practices and compliance standards
  • Work with our customers to understand their security posture and requirements around securing and monitoring web applications.
  • Understand PCI compliance requirements and implement solutions to monitor and enforce PCI compliance across the customer environment
  • Implement observability solutions across platforms for application monitoring and alerting
  • Collaborate across the entire organization to bring access to product and technical teams to get the right solution delivered and drive innovation gathered from customer input
  • Leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push adoption of web application security standards
  • Understand cyber threats specific to exploiting the customer's public facing web applications and deploy techniques and solutions to detect and mitigate those threats
  • Understand PCI compliance requirements for auditing
  Position Requirements:
  • 3+ years of security or solutions engineering specific to web applications OR a solid network security background with understanding of how to secure web applications
  • Understanding of PCI Compliance requirements and familiarity with PCI DSS controls
  • Familiarity with threats and/or attacks to public facing web applications and mitigation strategies
  • Experience in using data analytics platforms to perform queries and create reports/dashboards to monitor and identify networking or web application issues
  • High level understanding and comprehension of web application architectures
  • Proficiency in client/server network transactions and understanding of general network architectures for public facing websites and applications
  • General networking, host, and security based troubleshooting (firewalls, routing, NAT, etc.)
  • Ability to autonomously prioritize and successfully deliver across a portfolio of projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
