We are looking for a dedicated Cyber Security Administrator to join the SVHA Cyber Security Team. In this role, reporting to the Cyber Security Team Leader, you will be essential in monitoring and analysing security events, implementing security measures, and supporting the team in safeguarding our organisation. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our security posture and ensuring the ongoing protection of our systems and data.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented technology professional with a passion for protecting sensitive information and mitigating risks. You possess a strong technical background in security tools and practices, combined with a knack for problem-solving and analytical thinking. You thrive in collaborative environments, effectively communicating security concepts to diverse teams and stakeholders. Your commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest security trends positions you as a key player in enhancing our organisation’s cyber resilience to ensure the security and safety of those we serve under St Vincent’s Health Australia.
This is a permanent role with an immediate start available. This is a hybrid role which includes flexible work arrangements and can be based in any of our Group Offices in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.
Key responsibilities of the role:
Monitor and analyse security alerts and incidents, leveraging SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.
Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with D&T teams to implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
Support incident response efforts, including investigating security breaches, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions.
Guide and support Staff to provide training and awareness programs to promote a culture of security and best practices within the organisation.
Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance security posture.
Things that work for us:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cyber Security role, with a focus on incident detection and response.
Experience across common security platforms including Microsoft Office 365, SIEMs, Email gateway products, PAM, Endpoint Detection and Vulnerability Management platforms.
Solid understanding of security frameworks, tools, and technologies, including ACSC Essential Eight & NIST CSF.
Familiarity with vulnerability management and penetration testing methodologies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and respond to security incidents effectively.
Experience in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.
A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.
