What would you do as our Security Operations Engineer

As our Security Operations Engineer, you would provide 24x7 operational support for all GSSC Infrastructure services globally, managing incidents requests and acting on monitoring alerts in close collaboration with our internal teams and external partners.  The role is to understand and suggest improvements of the global GSSC services that provide the most value and to be an interaction point driving the solutions forward. In close partnering with our internal customers and external strategic partners, you would increase the IT infrastructure's quality and efficiency and plan for future growth. You would have an essential role in serving as the point of escalation and collecting feedback and requirements from customers and other stakeholders. You would contribute to driving a standard secure infrastructure design and architecture, being compliant with related policies. Your responsibilities would include securing that processes and routines are well defined and documentation being correctly updated. You will be working with big data, cloud, and our SIEM tool Splunk as well as other advanced cybersecurity tools such as Rapid7, Invicti, Bitsight and Axonius.

You would also:

• Collaborate with internal and external experts to improve security operations and optimize processes
• Develop and monitor security metrics, and provide reports to customers
• Analyse and contextualize security incidents, and assist with assessments for newly acquired companies
• Manage cybersecurity tools, deploy new security solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues
• Participate in cybersecurity projects, self-development courses, and maintain accurate internal documentation

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure environments as well as willingness to work flexibly in different hours including morning, afternoon and night shifts
• Strong organizational skills, a proactive and self-motivated approach, and a collaborative team player attitude with proficiency in building relationships with global stakeholders
• Understanding of Windows/Linux OS and database platforms
• Interest in pursuing a cybersecurity career with knowledge in areas like network security, system administration, forensic analysis, and cyber threat intelligence

It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell, though this is not mandatory. Previous experience in IT, especially in cybersecurity, would be a valuable asset, but it is not a requirement. Additionally, holding IT-related certifications like Microsoft SC-900, Splunk Power User, ITIL, or CompTIA Security+ would further strengthen your profile.
