Overview of the role
As an IT Systems and Applications Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation across systems and applications. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, from system and server administration to application development and data integration, all aimed at supporting the company’s operational goals. This role is ideal for a proactive IT professional eager to take on diverse responsibilities in a dynamic setting, leveraging both technical and soft skills to drive success.
Key Responsibilities
System and Server Administration:
- Manage operating system (Windows Server).
- Oversee local networks, servers, and storage devices.
- Implement and maintain security systems (firewalls, antivirus, access control).
Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Diagnose and repair IT equipment.
- Install and configure operating systems and specialized software.
- Provide technical support to employees.
Application Development and Data Integration:
- Develop custom applications using programming languages (Python, JavaScript, PHP).
- Manage databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Build APIs and integrate third-party systems for seamless data connectivity.
- Develop mobile/web applications for inventory management, traceability, or e-commerce.
- Ensure smooth data integration between internal systems and external platforms.
Automation of processes:
- Capacity to automate workflows and repetitive tasks through scripts or customized applications.
- Optimization of tracking processes.
Cybersecurity:
- Ensure data protection and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and contingency plans.
Cloud Management:
- Work with cloud services (Azure) for scalable applications and secure storage.
- Integrate cloud solutions with existing company systems.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT.
Relevant certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Certified, Red Hat Certified, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator.
Creative thinking for developing custom applications and automating processes.
Ability to take initiative and lead projects, even if not in a formal leadership role.
Effective communication to collaborate with non-technical departments.
Familiarity with import, customs, and logistics processes (a plus).
Knowledge of AS400 software environment (a plus).
Spanish and English fluent.
