The CBA technology unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and to do so is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology, and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security, and business resilience for all divisions across CBA. You are a seasoned Technology Leader who will lead our technological evolution within our Payments team. As the Crew Tech Lead (CTL), you’ll define technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment to tech strategy, reference architecture, enterprise data standards, application simplification and modernisation agendas. You love to drive brilliant customer outcomes whilst also balancing excellence in engineering standards. You have a genuine interest in Payments and Digital Wallets or have had experience in this area.

You’ll translate business strategy into technical strategy, helping business leaders understand technology concerns by working at the forefront of all technology decisions and ensure performance and availability of technology. You’ll be the expert in the tech landscape with a clear vision on trends and capabilities to create competitive advantage; ensure IT risks, technical debt and the associated impacts are understood.

You will work to facilitate open communication and establish meaningful professional relationships between individuals and teams to get great outcomes for our organisation, our customers, and the community.

  • Have proven experience as a technology leader in shaping and delivering the technology strategy.

  • Have ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders and teams to deliver product vision, navigating competing interests, and balancing the needs of customers, business, and technical teams.

  • Are a data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform decision-making with exceptional communication skills

  • Are experienced in delivering technology solutions and architecture, whilst ensuring the alignment to the technology roadmap

  • Cultivates and grows world-class delivery and engineering capabilities, leading a diverse team of professionals across multiple locations.

  • Are hands-on technologists and passionate engineers, who have led modern digital and cloud technology teams living and breathing a DevOps culture.

  • Takes ownership of the performance and availability of the Crew’s assets, including total cost of ownership considerations.

  • Fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, particularly in Payments area.

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Software Engineering, Architecture, and Microservices

  • Cloud technology - AWS preferred

  • CI/CD and DevSecOps best practices

  • Release and deployment

  • Payments experience is highly desirable
