The Opportunity

The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s information systems by developing and maintaining robust cyber security policies and governance frameworks. This role is essential in identifying and mitigating security threats through comprehensive assessments and risk reviews, ensuring a strong and resilient cyber security posture.

Additionally, the Cyber Security Analyst will monitor networks, respond to security incidents, and promote a culture of security awareness across the organization. By managing security tools, producing threat intelligence, and supporting the Information Security Management System (ISMS), this role contributes to the overall cyber security strategy and continuous improvement efforts.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or Cyber Security, or relevant industry-recognised cyber security certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, SABSA or similar.
  • Alternatively, advanced IT qualifications or a strong audit /cybersecurity architecture background.
  • A strong understanding of digital technologies and appreciation of technical methodologies.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Experience with security tools such as intrusion detection systems and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and work-related priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot even the smallest anomalies or irregularities
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed organisational and negotiation skills.
