Job Description

The Trainee Engineer will work in our Sophia-Antipolis office, integrated in the development team, working under the responsibility of an experienced Senior Developer, Architect or Project Manager.

Internship Subject: Use TEE as cryptographic provider for Linux Kernel

Our Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) can be viewed as a complete Operating System, allowing Trustonic and its customers to develop Trusted Applications (TAs) and execute them inside this secure enclave. Trusted Applications are written in C code.

On the other hand the Linux kernel is using a lot of cryptography for various security features, like filesystem encryption, integrity check, application verification.

The goal of this internship is to study the use of cryptographic modules in the Linux kernel and implement the necessary interfaces to ensure that all sensible operations and assets of the platform are handled by the TEE. This will improve the security of the Linux kernel, as all the assets will be HW-protected by the TEE.

This could demonstrate the benefits of using a TEE as the main crypto-provider and the feasibility of such a solution, potentially the impact in terms of performances.
