The Cyber Security Engineer - Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding Equifax's global enterprise by developing and implementing security strategies, managing risk assessments, and driving security best practices across infrastructure and applications. This role demands a strong technical background, excellent collaboration skills, and a passion for staying ahead of evolving security threats.
What you'll do:
Develop and implement security strategies to identify, measure, and manage risks across Equifax's global enterprise.
Provide expert security guidance and consulting for Equifax infrastructure and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Establish and promote security assessment best practices for global platforms.
Assess the security design and deployment of high-performance infrastructure and applications.
Define security controls based on user requirements and industry standards.
Collaborate with global security and IT teams to ensure enterprise-wide protection and consistent best practices.
Evaluate new security technologies and recommend solutions to enhance the existing environment.
Implement and manage security solutions, standards, and procedures to protect sensitive information.
Contribute to project planning and progress monitoring.
What experience you need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in information security engineering or a similar role.
Proven expertise in risk assessment methodologies and security best practices.
Strong understanding of infrastructure security concepts, including network security, data security, and cloud security.
Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are preferred.

Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

To adhere to our corporate location policies, this resource will be required to be local to the surrounding Atlanta, GA / St. Louis, MO and/or Reston, VA areas (or will be relocating). You are required to adhere to our Return To Office (RTO) / weekly onsite requirements (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This individual can sit in one of the three locations mentioned.
