$132,000 + superannuation

About the role
Cabrini’s network infrastructure has grown in complexity in recent years and with significant reliance on network services, demand continues to increase. As a result, our IT team has initiated a project called the Network Remediation Program. The Technical Specialist - Networks, will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing infrastructure relating to the Local, WAN & Wi-Fi networks of Cabrini to ensure highest reliability, availability, and uptime for these services. The role covers daily operational activity and is a highly hands-on role within the Network Team. The role has a lot of flexibility – Working some days at the Hawthorn East Corporate Office, visiting other Cabrini sites as needed, and working from home.
Key responsibilities:
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current solutions and infrastructure in conjunction with Network Architects and the Network Team
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, APs, VPNs, QoS)
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, capacity planning and management reporting
Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and successful completion of network infrastructure solutions/changes
Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution, root cause analysis and solution implementation
Produce detailed support documentation and technical implementation plans
About you
The successful candidate will have sound written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with a range of other IT team members, health professionals and health service staff. You will also have the following:
Network / Engineering degree and at least 5 years of hands-on work experience
CCNP registration or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
Strong troubleshooting skills of complex network, system, and/or security problems
Network experience especially in the design and implementation of multi-site LANS and WANs
Comprehensive experience of Cisco switching, Cisco Nexus 2k & 9k and Cisco switch/router stacks
Solid understanding of networking protocols including BGP \EIGRP \OSPF \IPSEC \HSRP \BGP \OSPF \802.11 \QoS
In-depth knowledge of wireless technologies with experience in Aruba ClearPass
Strong Network Access Control (NAC) and 802.1X deployment experience
In-depth experience with a leading Firewall technology (Fortinet and Cisco firewalls) and also experience with Palo alto traps is highly sought after
Strong understanding of network security to implement Layer7 technologies
Experience of MPLS network , SDWAN and VPN networks
In-depth knowledge F5 NPM & NTA, Cisco Prime, F5 LTM, GTM, APM and BIG-IP client
