Job Description

Today's highly complex investigation and litigation environments continue to present challenges to the eDiscovery practitioner. For example, the data explosion, cloud and pervasiveness of computing will demand you to continually craft and adapt bespoke solutions for our clients. Often, we need to go ‘above and beyond' the technologies and techniques that are readily available in the Forensic Technology marketplace.

Main Purpose of Job

  • Managing a team of specialists to deliver complex client projects across industries - ensuring the team delivers effectively 
  • Collaborating with clients and assist with the preservation, collection, processing, hosting, review, and production of data subject to discovery
  • Find relevant data for clients by leveraging Deloitte’s state-of-the-art technical infrastructure in order to collect data in a wide range of formats and media, preserving and harvesting it uncover insights
  • Utilize sophisticated technology and protocols designed to maintain the security and integrity of data, and help clients manage scope and cost of work
  • Assist clients with document review and production in complex disputes and investigations, including handling matters of relevance, privilege and categorization of issues by leveraging advanced analytics techniques
  • Extensive experience working with ‘Relativity’ and processing technology such as ‘Nuix’
  • This role will allow you to use your Discovery and engagement management experience, electronic document review expertise, problem solving ability and methodical approach to find meaningful solutions for a variety of clients.

Project Management & Client Engagement

  • Working on multiple projects within the realm of Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) and Cyber Investigations
  • As a Manager, you will be very familiar with client engagement processes together with risk and compliance procedures
  • Project management overview to track, monitor and ensure delivery of client projects within constrained timelines
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships internally and with key clients through effective delivery
  • Aligning team to firm scheduling and utilisation – ensuring team’s hours are captured correctly  
  • Manage business relationship and contracting process with service providers

Team & Self Development

  • Ideally, you will have a genuine interest in learning and implementing new technologies to further advance the tools used within the team
  • It is essential that you are able to support team members, learning and understanding the lifecycle in the following areas, e-discovery, litigations and communicating effectively with Forensic Investigators and Partners
  • You will be expected to develop junior staff in their careers and contribute to the on-going management of the practice

Communication

  • Consistent, effective and timeous communication with the functional leader, team members and stakeholders
  • Regular feedback and update to functional leader on the status of projects

Technical Competencies

  • Experience in either as a a) highly technical specialist, having the ability to write code, strong SQL skills and administer Relativity or b) very experienced in project managing Discovery engagements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science, Commerce, Forensics, Accounting or Law
  • Digital Forensic Certification or EnCase/ACE/CHFI, Cellebrite Certification or knowledge of XRY and Axiom
  • Specific e-Discovery certifications inclusive of Relativity/ Nuix/ Brainspace/ Clearwell
  • Attainment of other professional qualifications. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)
  • Bachelor / Honours Degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, Criminal Science, Engineering)
  • Working towards professional qualification, CFE/CFE

Minimum Experience

  • 8 years working directly with clients on time-critical, high impact corporate investigations and disputes all within a team with a genuine sense of camaraderie and collaboration

Desired Experience

  • 5 years in a client facing role
  • Experience with delivering projects within a large Consultancy/Advisory Firm
  • Experience with delivering Digital Forensic projects and Forensic Investigations
