You will be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways, job sites, and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development.

This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026.

You will also…

  • Manage the architecture, design and tool selection for cyber defense operations for BlueOval Battery Michigan. 
  • Lead the process and technologies present in a 24x7 cyber defense operation
  • Select and implement new security tools and practices
  • Identify and contain the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks
  • Grow the presence and thought leadership of BlueOval Battery Michigan’s cyber defense operations practice
  • Manage threat modelling and other security operations practices across the business
  • Participate in the security team on-call rotation
  • Collaborate closely with the Security Architecture & Engineering and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) teams to address vulnerabilities and gaps identified from incidents
  • Provide leadership for incident response investigations, coordinate response activity and brief senior leaders while maintaining confidentiality
  • Leverage the incident response program to conduct cyber table-top simulations and educational sessions with stakeholders

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of experience in information security operations and/or engineering, and reliability in the following areas:
    • Proven track record of mitigating with advanced threat actors and nation state threats
    • Expert technical understanding of security operations from the ground up
    • In depth knowledge of security operations architecture and design including strategies for logging, firewalls, network segmentation, endpoint, honeypots etc.
    • Ability to define, implement, automate and measure effective incident response playbooks
    • Experience with security posture management of corporate endpoints
    • Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds
    • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally less than 10% of the time.

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in offensive or defensive security teams with hands-on ability
  • Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools
  • Experience succeeding in elevated levels of complexity, exposure, to multiple business issues, ambiguity, and conflict.
  • Hands-on development, engineering, networking, cloud, and/or other technical work experience.
  • Experience with common information security management frameworks, such as International Standards Organization (ISO) 2700x, NIST-CSF series and the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Experience with Microsoft, Palo Alto, and Cisco security technologies.

This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall, MI, with expectation to be on-site as needed at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available). 

Once your employment with Ford commences, you will be assigned to BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC.  You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work for BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC, a Ford wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan.  You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
