As an employee you'll be part of a continually growing organization working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide contributing to global health initiatives. Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.

The Cyber Intelligence Analyst will play a critical role in protecting Moderna’s intellectual property, sensitive data, and operational continuity through the proactive identification and assessment of cyber threats. You will act with urgency, knowing that the actions you take today will compound to protect lives tomorrow. By gathering, analyzing, and reporting on cyber threat intelligence, you will support the company’s IT infrastructure, corporate assets, and personnel from both external and internal threats. This role also involves monitoring cyber threat trends specific to the pharmaceutical industry, including risks related to supply chain, clinical trials, and proprietary drug research, enabling you to pivot fearlessly in the face of new data.

In this high-visibility and fast-paced role, you will embrace Moderna’s dynamic range by driving strategy and execution at every step. Your work will not only safeguard the present but also push past possible, contributing to the future of biotech innovation. You'll behave like an owner, managing Moderna's Threat Management system in close partnership to ensure collective action and continuous improvement.

Here's What You’ll Do.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Monitor and analyze cyber threat intelligence from various open-source (OSINT) and closed-source platforms, pursuing parallel options to make the best choice for the company’s defense.

  • Proactively identify and assess cyber threats, including Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), ransomware, phishing, and insider threats, especially those targeting the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Conduct regular security assessments, delivering detailed reports on vulnerabilities, threat actors, and mitigation strategies, always questioning convention to fuel the future.

  • Analyze and contextualize cyber intelligence to forecast potential risks to proprietary research, intellectual property, and corporate data, removing viscosity to ensure seamless response.

  • Collaborate with internal security teams (SOC, incident response, and forensics) for a coordinated and timely response to incidents, embracing collective action to protect the organization.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Provide intelligence support to brand protection initiatives, including tracking threat actors involved in counterfeit medications, supply chain threats, and intellectual property theft.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external threat intelligence vendors and industry groups, prioritizing the platform over any single solution, to enhance threat intelligence capabilities.

  • Support insider threat investigations by identifying suspicious activity related to data exfiltration, unauthorized access, or other cyber anomalies, accepting calculated risk to maintain our competitive edge.

  • Assist in developing a proactive cyber threat intelligence strategy to enhance the organization's defensive posture, digitizing wherever possible to maximize impact on patients.

  • Deliver briefings and reports to senior leadership on emerging cyber threats, mitigation strategies, and risk assessments, obsessing over learning to stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape.

The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:

  • We act with urgency: In the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity, swift and decisive action is critical to safeguarding Moderna’s intellectual property and sensitive data.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 3-5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, incident response, or a related cybersecurity role, preferably within a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry’s unique cybersecurity challenges, including intellectual property protection, supply chain risks, and cyber risks to clinical trials.

  • Experience with cyber threat intelligence platforms, SIEM tools, and threat-hunting techniques.

  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing complex cyber threat intelligence data from OSINT, dark web sources, and proprietary feeds.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive risk identification and mitigation.
