Job Description:

We are currently expanding our Cyber Security Consulting Team and are looking to recruit a number of Cyber Security Consultant Graduate. You must be a recent Graduate in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering who has the drive, a keen passion for all things IT, and the enthusiasm to play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of cyber security across our external customers and in-house product delivery teams. This role will provide you with an unique opportunity to work on some of the UKs leading edge cyber security projects, that will have will have a direct impact on protecting the UK now and in the future.

Our 12 month Graduate Programme

As a Graduate Cyber Security Consultant, you will:

Be reporting to a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, with tasking guided by the our Head of Consulting you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge helping to provide comprehensive and effective cyber security and resilience support to a number of customer delivery scenarios as well as on your own assigned cyber security development project.

Work alongside experienced IT professionals to identify and mitigate potential security risks, analyse security threats, and develop solutions to protect our customers systems and data. Within this time, you provided the opportunity and fully supported to work towards Industry recognised professional cyber security certifications and qualifications.

What we need from you:

  • All of our roles require (a) a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelors/Integrated Master’s degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD.

  • For the Graduate Cyber Security Consultant role, the acceptable degrees are:

    • Cyber Security

    • Computer Science

    • Systems Engineering

  • A passion for cyber security and a keen interest in IT

  • Awareness of the different types of cyber threats

  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge or awareness of computer networks, operating  systems, software, hardware and security an awareness of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them

  • Great team working skills for collaborating with team members and users

  • Know how to self-manage own time with good organisational skills to manage a variety of tasks and meet deadlines

  • Must have the ability to multitask and prioritise your workload

Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary role of a Cyber Security Consultant is to apply an understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures and mitigation to protect organisations and people.

  • Those focused on the technical side will work on areas such as security design and architecture, security testing, investigations & response.

  • Those focused on the risk analysis side will work on areas such as operations, risk, governance and compliance.

  • Whether focused on the technical or risk analysis side, all people in this occupation work to achieve required security outcomes in a legal and regulatory context. You will develop and apply practical knowledge in information security to deliver solutions that fulfil organisation's requirements.

  • Gain invaluable experience by learning challenging theory and applying this on-the-job.

  • Develop the knowledge and skills required, such as how to defend against attack techniques and sources of threat, risk management and building a security case, to equip you to be a future Cyber Security Consultant.

Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Normally this is to the level of Security Check (typically known as “SC”) for our business which includes having a minimum of five years permanent residency in the UK.
