What you’ll do & Who you areWe are looking for an experienced and strategic Lead Security Engineer to make a significant contribution to our security team. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Security, you will make a major contribution as we enhance our cybersecurity model. You will help us develop a strategic vision and plans to keep our security practice at the forefront. With a hybrid working model, you'll work from our modern office in downtown Toronto 1-2 days per week.
What you’ll do
- You will contribute to define the implementation of company-wide security strategies to protect Kijiji's digital assets and sensitive information, ensuring long-term resilience against evolving threats.
- Be a trusted security advisor to senior leadership, influencing decisions related to risk management, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
- Conduct regular security audits across departments to identify vulnerabilities and address potential security risks
- Evaluate the security possible effects of new technologies and architectural decisions, providing strategic guidance to ensure future-proof and secure adoption.
- Provide leadership to our security engineering team.
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
- Leadership experience, with a focus on implementing and managing security measures in a large-scale cloud environment
- Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
- Exposure to legal and information security requirements related to data protection.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and partners, including senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
