Essential Duties:Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activitiesInstall, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and componentsAdminister Windows and/or Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environmentsMaintain Windows systems comprised of servers, workstations, and thin clientsAdminister installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device managementResolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problemsInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory domainsPerform system and user account maintenanceTest and assess security configuration of Windows and Linux serversMonitor, evaluate, and optimize system performanceAnalyze, test, implement security patches, and systems hardeningDocument maintenance & ticketing actions Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesIf required, assist in IT security incident response and documentationParticipate in internal & external security audits/inspectionsMinimum 2 years of directly related experience in systems administration, network administration, or cyber securityDemonstrated experience in platform-specific systems administration (Windows or Linux)An understanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP)An understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environmentsSome experience with scripting for task automation (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH)Some knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk)An understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios)Experience with Risk Management Framework and working within an accredited systemDemonstrated experience working independently & in a team environment
Required Skills:A current Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is preferredExperience in multiplatform systems administration (Windows and Linux) is desiredWindows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshootingAn Understanding of Group Policy managementSome experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8, 9)Some experience with SAN management (e.g., NetApp, Dell Unity)Some experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (i.e., Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops) Exchange Server 2019 configuration, management, and troubleshootingExperience with systems management and automation software e.g., (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator)Some experience with High Performance Computing
Required Skills:High School diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience in a System Administration role OR Associate degree in information technology, information security, computer science, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in a related roleDoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Special Requirements:This position is 100% on-site. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice. This job will also require up to 15% travel.
This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance. The applicant must also be willing to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.This position requires that the applicant obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.
As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access, which is subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.
Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,640 - $113,353 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
