Security Engineer (C++, Go & K8s Security)

Position Title: Security Engineer, Managed Service

Position Description

At SingleStore we are making security part of the entire software development lifecycle, from design to development, through testing and operations. To meet the needs of our rapidly growing business we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Security Engineer to help us deliver products and services that meet customer security requirements and provide the highest levels of security assurance.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead secure development practices (Security Architecture, Threat Modeling, Secure Coding, Ethical Hacking, Incident Response) for SingleStore.
• Monitor emerging security threats to implement relevant controls in SingleStore products.
• Research software security standards to align product releases with best practices.
• Provide solutions for software vulnerabilities identified through penetration testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on software security training and guidance.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years in software development and software security.
• Knowledge of security standards (NIST, CIS, OWASP) for resilient systems.
• Experience with cloud-native, container technologies, and related security risks.
• Proficiency in C variants, Golang, JavaScript, and Kubernetes architecture.
• Practical experience in Kubernetes and container security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building software security features (e.g., SSO, key management).
• Skilled in designing secure APIs and encryption/key management.
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessments and security scanning tools.
• Penetration testing experience; certifications like CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, CEH preferred.
• Familiarity with data security frameworks (PCI DSS, GDPR, FedRAMP).
