IT Security Engineer

We are looking for an IT Security Engineer, who enjoys discovering vulnerabilities and designing defensive solutions.

You will be part of the IT Security Department of GRNET and contribute to making GRNET’s services and infrastructure more secure. GRNET is highly involved in the development and hosting of digital governance services (gov.gr), as well as national and EU research projects. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in modern-technology application and infrastructure security testing.

What you will do

• Audit source code for vulnerabilities
• Audit application and infrastructure deployment processes for vulnerabilities
• Provide guidance and assist with projects across GRNET to ensure secure designs and coding practices are followed
• Manage and develop features of vulnerability tracking tooling
• Manage and develop features of attack prevention and monitoring infrastructure
• Occasionally respond to security incidents and conduct digital forensics analysis

Requirements

Who you are

• You have a thorough understanding of IT security concepts
• You have thorough knowledge of web technologies
• You have a good understanding of Linux systems
• You are familiar with containers and Kubernetes
• You are familiar with computer networks
• You have coding skills in C and Python
• You have excellent logic, problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
• You are fluent in English language
• Proven working experience in IT security will be taken into account
• Computer Science or equivalent academic degree will be taken into account
