Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking  a Cyber Technology Support Specialist to support operations, and maintenance of computing resources for the Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences (CCS) and The Citadel DoD Cyber Institute (CDCI). Resources may Include lab environments, Citadel Security Operations Center (C-SOC), classrooms, cyber range, Netlab+, and VMWare vCloud Director. Assist users (faculty, staff, and students) by providing technical support or training as necessary. May be required to participate in C-SOC activities as needed. The Cyber Technology Support Specialist works independently, following protocols established by the Cybersecurity Manager and Department Head of CCS / Director of CDCI. The Cyber Technology Specialist reports to the Cybersecurity Manager.

  • Provide physical and remote technical support in the operation and administration of the CCS/CDCI servers, classrooms, lab environments, and related infrastructure.
  • Assist with maintaining systems including, but not limited to, Netlab+, VMWare vCloud Director, cyber range, department classrooms, and lab environments.
  • Implement systems to simplify lab management, as well as coordinate software installations.  Ensure the integrity of lab software images. Assist in the creation of custom virtual lab environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain technology and confer with vendors in diagnosing and correcting errors.
  • Assist with implementing the necessary controls, procedures, and best practices for maintaining information security of hardware, server resources, and systems. Assist with training as necessary for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Manages technology assets and maintains and creates accurate documentation of all support activities.
  • Assist in researching new technologies and perform other related duties as may be assigned, including C-SOC activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and experience in systems administration, installation, operation, and repair. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with VMWare environments, Netlab+, vCloud Director, Windows, and Linux environments are highly desirable.
