Department Overview

Product & Services Cybersecurity organization safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our Products and Services, ensuring that our end customers can fulfill their mission-critical pursuits with confidence.


The ‘Security Operations’ team within the Product & Services Cyber organization provides advisory/consulting services to Motorola's Business Units to adopt and implement various security programs, and make business-informed decisions on risk, policies, and security controls.


Job Description

We are seeking a motivated intern who is interested in cybersecurity and would like to learn and contribute towards designing, deploying and maintaining secure products. You will bring your cybersecurity and software engineering skills to practical use and in return learn about challenges faced by organizations. 


Basic Requirements

  • Provide software engineering consultation and thought leadership to ensure a secure software is designed and developed. 

  • Provide support in implementing industry frameworks like NIST CSF, OWASP SAMM, NIST 800-53 to ensure secure products in the various stages of a product lifecycle.

  • Establish and facilitate relevant reporting and governance forums to provide robust security and risk updates.

  • Provide support in security audits/assessments, risk management & prioritization, regulatory compliance, mitigation work related to findings and Incident Response activities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

  • Basic knowledge of OS and databases. 

  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability to understand technical constructs.

  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Gain hands-on experience in secure product design activities, and industry frameworks of cybersecurity risk management.

  • Enhance skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Improve cross-functional collaboration and communication skills within an enterprise and cybersecurity environment.
