The School of Informatics invite applications for a full time Computing Systems and Security Engineer.
The Opportunity:
Are you an experienced Linux systems manager with a strong interest in security? Are you looking to move into the rapidly developing world of DevSecOps? Do you enjoy scripting and appreciate the need for automation? We have an exciting new role in our Systems team that will involve an interesting variety of work, including the management of the School’s Linux environment and enhancement of the IT security infrastructure.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Large-scale Linux system management experience
- Demonstrable scripting skills (preferably Python)
- A good understanding of the computing security threat landscape
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
