We are looking for a talented IT Security Engineer Junior to be based in EMEA (Madrid or Poland).

What You Will Do

As an IT Security Engineer Junior, you will be part of the Information Systems Security global team that designs, delivers and supports the solutions and components used to provide Security Services globally within Roche.   Our team consists of IT professionals distributed across the globe with expertise in Endpoint Protection, Network Security, Remote Access Management, Vulnerability and Compliance Scan, Security Log Management, etc.  We provide technical support and technological consulting on security.

Purpose 

Information Systems Security Section designs, delivers, and supports the solutions and components used to provide Security Services in the corporate environment. 

The purpose of this team is to provide technical support to the security infrastructure components and technological consulting. Including on-premise and Cloud Environments.

Key activities and deliverables

  • Maintain security infrastructure components.

  • Ensure the life cycle, and capacity plan for all security and technology components.

  • Maintain Inventory of assets, software and hardware.

  • Operationally manage and support the security infrastructure. 

  • Design, implement and deliver new technologies.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows to streamline security operations and tool integration.

  • Actively focus on self-development in creating actionable plans to improve.

  • Complete tasks and assignments with a strong customer focus and a highly responsive service delivery and support ethic.

  • International and multicultural mindset with clear goal orientation.

  • Take a proactive, collaborative and supportive approach when interacting with colleagues.

  • Strong spoken and written English.

Qualifications and experience required

  • 1-3 years of technical experience.

  • Proficiency in working with Linux systems.

  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP stack).

  • Programming and Ops Skills: Bash, Python, Powershell.

  • Hands-on experience working with IaC tools: Ansible, Git (GitHub/GitLab).

  • Experience working with APIs, including making API calls and integrating different tools and technologies through automation workflows.

  • Understanding of Security concepts, trends and best practices.

  • Hands-on technical security skills, operational background, and working experience with security technologies and underlying infrastructures.

  • Demonstrated willingness to cross train and to learn additional expertise related to operational activities.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative and commitment to operational excellence skills.

Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following areas is a plus:

  • Hands on experience supporting security tools such as vulnerability scanning and log management tools (SIEM).

  • Proficiency in additional programming languages, DevOps tools, or processes.

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and methodologies.

  • Experience working with data analytics tools and processes.

  • Knowledge of technologies like Splunk, Tenable and Cribl.
