1. About us

Onebrief is building the future of military decisions. Our product is built for operational planning across the US and our allies and is currently in broad use at 8 of the largest military headquarters in the world. 3 of the 4 biggest operational plans in the US are currently built with Onebrief.

We’ve raised $53M in Venture Capital from top tier venture investors, including Human Capital, Caffeinated Capital, and Y Combinator. We are currently a Series B company and aspire to IPO in a few years.

We’re a rapidly growing team of 100. We’re spread worldwide, across Korea, Hawaii, the continental US, the UK, Germany, and Italy. This year, we plan to build a presence in Australia, Japan, and the Middle East.

Users love our product. They make statements like, “I will never plan again without Onebrief.” We grew usage 4x in 3 months. Last year, we achieved 100% gross retention and 158% net retention. Last year, our revenue grew 4x and reached double-digit millions. We anticipate similarly rapid growth this year.

Onebrief will become the single collaborative planning solution – from the Battalion level up to the Joint Staff, for the US and our allies around the world.

2. About you
  • You have experience planning theater opening, theater distribution, and theater sustainment operations in Europe.

  • You are already in Germany or are open to relocation to Germany.

  • You have credibility with customers and deeply understand large military headquarters. The Commanding General cares what you have to say and so do skillful planners, mainly in the rank of O-4 to O-6.

  • You can get things from large government organizations.

Example: “Our engineer needs admin access to a system on JWICS, in order to diagnose technical issues.” It’s an unusual request, and no one at the customer knows what to do. Everyone tells you it’s not possible, but you love a bureaucratic challenge. You legally and ethically solve the problem with a few phone calls.

  • You have technical skill.

You don’t need to code, but you do need to be savvy. Can you become a power user of our product and talk engineering with the customer?

  • You work well with customers.

You understand them and they confide in you. Users are happy to see you walk through their door.

  • You’re intense about our mission. It’s a core part of who you are. This is service to the Nation and we add value to the DOD.

  • You’re ambitious. We’re getting bigger. You should want your duties and responsibilities to grow with the company.

  • You hold a current Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading operational planning within a military context, preferably at multi-star headquarters.

  • Recent experience leading sustainment in a Joint Security Area Operation and a background developing sustainment concepts that account for adversary capabilities.

  • Strong network within Europe’s and NATO’s sustainment community.

  • Familiarity and experience with major military planning exercises and the protocols for software deployment on classified networks.

  • Proven ability to expand business presence within a region, with emphasis on software or technology solutions.

  • Experience in customer support, both face-to-face and remote, and capability to respond to incidents coordinating with customers and product engineering teams.

  • Strong technical skills to master our application, troubleshoot issues and liaise with customers on technical matters.

  • Proven ability to navigate large government organizations, solve bureaucratic challenges, and deliver successful outcomes.

  • Most importantly, you are a true Onebriefer:

    • You are obsessed with creating value for real users

    • You are committed to performing up to your potential

    • You are ambitious, scrappy, and a creative problem-solver

    • You learn quickly, work iteratively, and naturally seek collaboration

    • You approach your work with integrity, intellectual honesty, and a low ego

    • You communicate frankly, clearly, and succinctly

    • You thrive as a self-starter, embracing autonomy and ambiguity

    • You are a U.S. citizen

3. About the job

You will lead the on-boarding and the implementation of Onebrief’s collaborative military planning software to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command (21st TSC) Staff: the chief sustainment command for US operations in the theater. Your role includes support to 21st TSC Headquarters and their subordinate commands in the region.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in 21st TSC ensuring Onebrief extends down to subordinate HQ staffs for contributing to 21st TSC plans and orders.

  • Ensure customer operational planning teams & staff entities succeed with Onebrief.

  • Coordinate with cyber accreditation authorities and our DevSecOps team to support the rapid deployment of our software on various classified networks.

  • Expand our presence within the region, so that 100% of 21st TSC’s planning occurs in Onebrief.

You will also:

  • Lead our support to planning teams, working groups, and exercises.

  • Use your observations of our users to collaborate with our product engineering team to resolve technical issues and recommend product improvements.

  • Provide face-to-face and remote customer support.

  • Develop an understanding of customer social dynamics in order to support renewals and future sales.

  • When responding to incidents (product is unavailable, broken, or not delighting the customer), coordinate with the customer and our product engineering team.

To succeed, you’ll need a mastery of operational planning at multi-star headquarters. When you speak, do lead planners listen? Do Generals and Admirals?

You’ll also need technical skill. You don’t need to code, but you do need to be savvy. Can you become a power user of our product and talk engineering with the customer?
