At GXO Logistics, we’re constantly looking for talented individuals at all levels, who can deliver the caliber of service our company requires. As the Director of Security, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of security professionals responsible for security strategies and practices to minimize risks and potential exposures such as theft, vandalism, workplace violence, and civil disturbances, while ensuring smooth flow of operations. This role will also ensure compliance with regulatory and company security standards through delivery of routine audits and assessments.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support company-wide risk mitigation efforts; champion the employee awareness program throughout facilities to promote a culture of honesty and responsibility
  • Design, implement and monitor security and loss prevention policies, procedures, and programs
  • Plan, examine, analyze, evaluate, and supervise security operations, including physical security assets and security personnel; perform audits on a regular basis, including physical surveys of premise security, security equipment condition and evaluations of vendor compliance
  • Prepare performance reports (audit findings, investigations, reports of losses, violations, threats, identified risks, etc.) for operations management and the executive leadership team
  • Support Security and Loss Prevention by developing and maintaining vendor relationships, including contract guard service, CCTV, off-duty police, and other security support companies
  • Manage projects; direct and coordinate security and loss prevention functions, including personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions, counsel and discipline or dismissal measures
  • Identify and resolve security and/or loss-related concerns or problems; conduct and/or direct internal investigations of any losses or violations of company regulations, policies, and procedures

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies
  • 7 years of experience in physical security
  • 3 years of experience in Leadership role
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Thorough knowledge of CCTV, alarms, badge access, robotics, and other security technology

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security, Supply Chain or a closely related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
  • Prior experience in supply chain or logistics security
  • Availability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Driven, customer-oriented quality mindset and desire to continuously improve
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively interact/communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Record of strong work ethic with a high level of integrity, verified in accordance with company policies and employment laws
  • Ability to maintain an effective balance of technical writing and creativity/communication to create highly refined work products for facility use/implementation
