The Safety and Security Research (SSR) Analyst will work as part of a global team, embedded with a high-profile financial services client, and will be responsible for the timely delivery of succinct, forward looking, and business relevant intelligence products.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the SSR strategy and the development of the SSR’s capability through innovation, collaboration, alignment across work streams and high technical standards.
  • Manage key stakeholders and business unit leaders to ensure their familiarisation with the SSR function. Work with stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of their needs, issues and priorities.
  • Develop and adapt bespoke intelligence products and services as context and stakeholder needs evolve.
  • Brief internal stakeholders on the business relevance of health, safety, and security-related events to help them make better informed decisions on a range of incidents, issues, and trends including those regarding: terrorism, civil unrest & protest, infectious disease, extreme weather, activism, political instability, physical crime, including kidnap, strikes and war.
  • Manage information and intelligence sources used by the SSR team. Support a collaborative effort to solve new, complex or ambiguous problems by using intelligence and data.
  • Support pro-active monitoring, reporting and forecasting within pre-defined parameters to identify triggers for potential incidents and crisis events which will help the business make informed risk mitigation decisions. Assist in the liaison with resilience teams to ensure support and collaboration on areas of shared interest, including designing crisis management exercises and post-incident reviews around political instability, war, terrorism and other issues.
  • Facilitate collaboration and information sharing with regional Security Operations Centres and other threat intelligence and research teams to assist with the provision of round the clock vigilance, timely communication and 24/7/365 support to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in history, political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ professional experience in intelligence-related roles within government, corporate, military or police is preferred. Previous experience in financial services sector highly desirable.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills and be capable of reducing complex and ambiguous situations to succinct, forward-looking, and business-relevant analysis
  • A strong customer service focus and ability to build and maintain trusting relationships. The ability to assist in the management of intelligence across functional and geographical boundaries especially under the complexity of a matrix organisation is essential.
  • Ability to innovate, think creatively, and propose cost-effective solutions to unique issues and customer requirements is essential.
  • Must be able to make decisions and give professional advice even when the evidence available to form a judgement may be inadequate or incomplete.
  • Must be proactive, outgoing, driven and capable of learning and working independently with minimal supervision.
