The following position is to join RTX and the Legal Team:
The Intellectual Property Attorney, Product Cyber and Supply Legal position has a strategic responsibility for ensuring legal compliance and support for technical teams responsible for the security of all digitally enabled products and services across the enterprise, including responsibility for spearheading regulatory compliance for emerging regulated technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, secure software development. Further responsibilities include management and negotiation of IP related enterprise supply chain agreements for both products and non-product procurement, and coordination of IP litigation matters across the enterprise.
What You Will Do
- Legal support for RTX enterprise Product Cyber Security Leader, RTX CODE Center, and business unit stakeholders involved in RTX matters.
- Provide primary legal support for all RTX enterprise-wide product cyber matters, including: reactive incident response, proactive prevention, policy and procedure development, implementation, and governance.
- RTX AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Data regulatory compliance - develop, deploy, and operate with T&GE, ES, and BU functions newly required risk management framework for deployment of AI within RTX products and product development processes.
- Respond to emerging regulations that impact RTX digitally enabled products and services.
- Develop and deploy policies, procedures, and training for RTX legal and non-legal personnel engaged in product related AI and Data activities subject to regulation and policy.
- RTX enterprise IP litigation management.
- Develop and implement procedures for implementation of digital supply chain risk management and resilience.
- Monitor, lead RTX advocacy, and ensure development and implementation of compliance procedures for new regulations that impact RTX digitally enabled products and services.
- Provide legal support for enterprise supply chain intellectual property issues arising in the procurement of product and non-product (digital) procurement.
- Strategic responsibility for ensuring legal compliance and support for technical teams responsible for security of all digitally enabled products and services across the enterprise, including responsibility for spearheading regulatory compliance for emerging regulated technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
- Travel up to 15%.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Juris Doctorate
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field.
- Admitted to the bar in at least one major jurisdiction relevant to RTX.
- Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office
- Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Granted Refugee or Asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong preference for IP litigation experience.
- Strong transactional experience in drafting and negotiating complex license and other IP related commercial agreements.
- Relevant background or experience in software development, cyber security, or artificial intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineers and scientists to develop and deploy relevant policies and procedures and create meaningful training for the enterprise.
- Experience with US Government contracting (FAR and DFARS), cybersecurity, and FAA/EASA airworthiness regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision, collaborate with others, and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
