The Cyber Security Expert will be responsible for coordinating and supporting our client's compliance efforts with the NIS-2 cyber security regulation by the end of 2025. The expert will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders and external partners to ensure that all security measures are implemented effectively and timely, safeguarding the organisation’s assets and operations..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Coordination:

    • Lead the efforts to align our client's cyber security practices with the NIS-2 regulation.

    • Develop and manage a comprehensive compliance plan with clear milestones and deadlines.

    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

 

  • Security Assessments:

    • Conduct thorough security assessments and support potential audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with NIS-2.

    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls.

 

  • Procedure Development:

    • Ensure that documented procedures are implemented and followed across the organisation.

 

  • Training and Awareness:

    • Provide training and raise awareness among employees about cyber security practices and NIS-2 requirements.

    • Conduct regular workshops and seminars to keep staff updated on the latest security trends and regulatory changes.

 

  • Incident Management:

    • Help adapt an incident response plan in line with NIS-2 requirements.

    • Ensure proper response to security incidents, i.e. ensuring they are managed and resolved efficiently.

 

  • Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare regular reports on the status of compliance activities for senior management and regulatory bodies.

    • Maintain detailed documentation of all compliance-related activities, assessments, and incidents.

 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, legal, Security, Transformation and compliance teams.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for NIS-2 compliance issues.

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business management or equivalent.

  • Relevant certifications such as ISO, NISP or equivalent.

  • Excellent languages skills in English and French or Dutch.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cyber security, with a focus on regulatory compliance.

  • Proven experience in managing and coordinating compliance projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of NIS-2 regulation and other relevant cyber security standards.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Deep understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and technologies.

    • Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.

  • Project Management:

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to identify and mitigate risks efficiently.

  • Communication:

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.

  • Attention to Detail:

    • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure stringent compliance with regulations.

  • Ethical Judgement:

    • High level of integrity and ethical judgement.

  • Adaptability:

    • Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and emerging security threats.
