The Integrity Investigator will contribute to all aspects of Sportradar’s investigation activity, and the role demands a creative, forward-thinking investigator with a service provider mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Conduct Investigations: Drive complex investigations across key areas, including Anti-Match-Fixing, Anti-Doping, Safe Sport, Compliance, Risk Management, Governance, Rights Protection, and Regulatory, ensuring thorough and effective resolution of integrity challenges.
- Prepare Comprehensive Case Files: Compile high-quality, accurate, and consistent investigation reports and evidential case files to support decision-making and enforcement actions.
- Evidence Collection and Intelligence Gathering: Conduct diverse evidence-gathering activities, including open-source intelligence investigations, investigative interviews, statement-taking, surveillance, and discreet human inquiries, employing both overt and covert methods.
- Digital Forensics Management: Oversee the unit's digital forensic capabilities, serving as the expert in the extraction, preservation, and analysis of electronic evidence to support investigations.
- Ensure Legal and Ethical Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks relevant to investigations, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality and security standards.
- Enhance Processes and Innovation: Continually improve processes, tools, and outputs within Integrity Services, identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and operational excellence.
- Stay Updated on Trends and Techniques: Remain current with the latest investigative trends, developments, and tools to ensure the unit's methodologies and techniques are cutting-edge and effective.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Commercial Awareness: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, regulatory bodies, sports organisations, and other private entities to facilitate investigations and uphold the highest standards of integrity.
Profile
- Operational Investigative Expertise: Proven experience in investigative roles within fields such as sports integrity, journalism, law enforcement, compliance, fraud prevention, financial crime, or cyber security. Prior involvement in complex, high-stakes investigations is a strong asset.
- Advanced Communication Skills: Exceptional writing and reporting skills with the ability to present findings, hypotheses, and recommendations clearly and persuasively. Proficiency in creating detailed and accurate case reports is essential.
- Mastery of Investigative Techniques: Demonstrable expertise in a range of investigative strategies, including statement-taking, conducting investigative interviews, and employing methodologies that align with ethical and legal standards.
- Intelligence and Evidence-Gathering Proficiency: Hands-on knowledge and application of OSINT (Open Source Intelligence), SOCMINT (Social Media Intelligence), HUMINT (Human Intelligence), and GEOINT/IMINT (Geospatial/Imagery Intelligence) tools and methodologies. Skilled in identifying, collecting, and assessing intelligence and evidential material.
- Multilingual Advantage: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in additional languages is a significant plus and adds value to cross-border investigations.
- Data and Technology Literacy: Strong ability to quickly understand and utilise digital platforms, investigative tools, and systems. Experience in analysing and interpreting diverse and large datasets to uncover insights is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with exceptional record-keeping, notetaking, and organisational skills to ensure accuracy and reliability in all investigative tasks.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as SharePoint or other collaborative tools. Confident in preparing and delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders and leading discussions or meetings.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Flexible and adaptive to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Capable of managing multiple investigations simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. A motivated self-starter with a curious and analytical mindset.
