Job Description:

A Cybersecurity Generalist is a versatile professional with broad knowledge across various cybersecurity domains. They are responsible for implementing and maintaining a wide range of security measures to protect an organization's digital assets. This role involves working on diverse security tasks, from network security and incident response to risk assessment and security awareness training. Cybersecurity Generalists often serve as the primary security resource in smaller organizations or as flexible team members in larger security departments.

Skills and Experience:

- Broad understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices

- Knowledge of network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs

- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems

- Experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing

- Understanding of identity and access management principles

- Knowledge of encryption technologies and cryptography basics

- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- Experience with incident response and digital forensics basics

- Understanding of security compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)

- Basic scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)

- Knowledge of security awareness and training best practices

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders

- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and security challenges

Language Requirement:

Strong English language abilities at a minimum of EFSET C1 level

Required Certifications:

- CompTIA Security+

- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or actively pursuing

Optional Certifications:

- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)

- GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)

- CCNA Security or equivalent networking certification

- Cloud security certification (AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent)

- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
