The Enforcement Intelligence & Specialist Services Directorate (EISS) sits at the heart of Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) and provides strategic and highly specialised central support to EMO and the wider FCA.

The Digital Forensics Unit within EISS provide comprehensive digital evidence services to Enforcement and Market Oversight providing strategic forensic investigative techniques for the acquisition, preservation, recovery, and presentation of digital evidence.

What will you be doing? 

• Work with the Network and systems manager to ensure smooth running of the Cyber Forensics support infrastructure

• Provide technical support to the end users of the CFU

• Troubleshoot, resolve and report on hardware and software issues

• Maintain software version continuity across the estate

• Take ownership of the patching process in the environment

• Take ownership of and ensure smooth running of specific systems

What you will get from the role?

The Cyber Forensics team is charged with supporting the Enforcement division with all digital and cyber aspects of an investigation, this role offers the opportunity to work with and develop the technical backbone which supports these investigations. Sometimes this means using cutting edge technology and other times using older, stable platforms.

Minimum 

• Experience of troubleshooting fundamental network protocols

• Experience of troubleshooting hardware and software issues with desktops

• Experience in creating PowerShell scripts

Essential

• Familiarity with common hashing algorithms, including their benefits and drawbacks

• Experience in creating PowerShell scripts

• Knowledge of or experience in Microsoft deployment technologies

• Experience of providing technical support to end users

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

• The successful candidate will hold or will be required to obtain Security Clearance (SC) level vetting

• You must be able to lift and move a desktop tower unaided

• This role will require 80% attendance at our London site
