We are seeking a skilled and proactive Security Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity, working PST hours. This role is integral to ensuring the security of our systems and networks, with a focus on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, responding to threats, and maintaining secure operational environments. The Security Engineer will collaborate with IT and security teams to support our security posture through proactive defense measures, incident response, and security tool management.

WORKSITE: Remote

WORK SCHEDULE: Must work in Pacific Time Zone hours

PAY RATE: $64/hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

-Conduct regular vulnerability scanning and generate detailed reports for remediation.

-Respond effectively to phishing attempts and campaigns, including incident analysis and resolution.

-Manage and administer Microsoft O365 security configurations and settings.

-Configure, manage, and maintain Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and antivirus (AV) tools.

-Configure and oversee email gateways to protect against spam, phishing, and malware threats.

-Administer and optimize Web Application Firewall (WAF) tools for web security.

-Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools to protect sensitive data.

-Collaborate with IT operations to enforce security policies and improve overall system resilience.

-Document security incidents and prepare incident reports for review.

-Monitor and stay current with emerging security threats, tools, and techniques.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

-5+ years in IT Operations roles with a strong focus on security.

-Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools and reporting mechanisms.

-Expertise in responding to and managing phishing incidents.

-In-depth knowledge of Microsoft O365 administration and security settings.

-Proficiency in managing and configuring EDR and AV solutions.

-Experience with email gateway configurations and management.

-Hands-on experience with WAF tools for web protection.

-Familiarity with implementing and managing DLP solutions.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

-Proactive and detail-oriented approach to security challenges.

-Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while adhering to PST hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-3+ years of experience in a Security Operations role.

-Proficiency with SIEM tools such as Splunk for security monitoring and analysis.

-Experience with SentinelOne, Tenable, and IronPort.

-Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CSSM, or other related credentials.

-Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
