About Security Team at TikTok
The security team is missioned to build infrastructures, platforms and technologies, as well as to support cross-functional teams to protect our users, products and infrastructures. In this team you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and secure-by-design systems and solutions. You also have opportunities to go through the whole lifecycle of security products or services, are encouraged to participate in each phase, each part of the projects and have the whole picture of what you are working on.

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to play a pivotal role in enhancing our security platform, which delivers essential security services across the entire organization. This position is part of our SRE team, collaborating closely with product teams to ensure the high availability and efficient performance of services company-wide.

Our security services provide application developers with out-of-the-box solutions for performing secure operations on all systems that support our 1 billion+ users. The challenges we face are not typical day-to-day technical issues. Instead, we encourage our team to bring innovative ideas, revitalize our existing infrastructure, identify problems, and develop new solutions to tackle challenges on a truly global scale. We are rapidly expanding, and this role holds significant impact, playing a crucial part in our company's success.

Responsibilities
- Work with TikTok product engineering team and security software engineers on system design, software platforms, capacity planning and launch reviews throughout whole lifecycle of services; provide your expertise feedback, guidance, and recommend solutions on each phase of the project.
- With cutting edge technologies, build automation tools and solutions to measure and monitor availability, scalability, latency and overall system health of security products and services developed by partner teams, and improve the efficiency and sustainability of system maintenance.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- Consistently evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability, velocity and efficiency.
- Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems. Support product and security engineering teams identifying flaws and vulnerabilities in our systems.
