Overview

The Director of Security Operations will be responsible for maintaining and growing the TNS Security Monitoring (SOC) and Vulnerability Management programs. The Director will tactically lead the company’s security operations, including monitoring, incident response, threat detection and response, and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical hands-on experience managing diverse security technologies and personnel in different time zones. Working closely with Koch colleagues to ensure alignment, the director will enhance and directly mature operational processes, motivate, and provide technical mentorship and guidance to a global team and serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external customers. The director will be working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of operational security risk for the organization and accurately and routinely present data to executives via KPI (Key Performance Indicators). The Director will report to the Chief Security Officer and is responsible for a team of security professionals.In 2021, TNS became a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Equity Development LLC, the investment and acquisition arm of Koch Industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security operations strategy: This includes defining security objectives, aligning with documenting policy and standards, maintaining RACIs, SWOTs, playbooks, and roadmaps to be able to communicate current and future goals
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Security Operations process flows, metrics, and reporting capabilities
  • Lead the global incident response service: This includes responding to security incidents, investigating breaches, and implementing corrective action
  • Oversee vulnerability management: This includes identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities on prem and in the cloud at the OS, configuration, and application levels
  • Design effective processes that support the protection of computers, networks, software, data, and information systems against possible attack
  • Stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends: This includes attending conferences, presenting, and reading industry publications
  • Initiates and fosters existing partnerships with the Koch security operations and vulnerability management teams along with other key TNS department leads
  • Represent Security Operations in external and internal meetings and be an advocate for change where needed
  • Mentor and develop the security operations team including forensics analysis
  • Manage a global team which provides 24x7x365 cyber security operations support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information security, computer science, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in security operations, preferably in a leadership role

  • Proven track record of success in managing security incidents and implementing security controls

  • Deep understanding of security threats and vulnerabilities

  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of security tools and technologies

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • CISSP or CISM certification is a plus

  • Exhibit a broad knowledge and adherence to regulatory, security policies, standards, and procedures

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and legal compliance requirements that may impact security and works with business areas and project teams to develop security solutions that address these requirements.  PCI-DSS experience preferred

  • CrowdStrike EDR experience

  • Experience with SOC/SIEM solutions

  • Tenable or Qualys Vulnerability Management Platform experience

  • Forensics analysis experience

  • Windows and Linux Operating Systems experience

  • Automation Framework Experience

  • Database experience

  • AWS, M365 experience

  • Networking: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto experience a plus

  • For this role we anticipate paying $165k - $200K for the salary, in addition this role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
