About the role:

The IT Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of the organization. This role ensures the protection of sensitive data, systems, and networks from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats. The IT Security Engineer will monitor the organization’s security environment, respond to security incidents, and continuously improve the security posture through best practices, tools, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

•  Work hand-in-hand with the Global Security team to Develop, update & enforce IT Security Policies.•  Design, implement, and maintain security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and endpoint security.•  Conduct regular network security, system access, and configuration audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.•  Continuously monitor security alerts, system logs, and network traffic for signs of suspicious activities or potential threats.•  Respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations, analyzing the root cause, and taking immediate corrective actions.•  Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.•  Implement and maintain endpoint security, antivirus, encryption, and data loss prevention (DLP) tools.•  Conduct security awareness training programs for employees to educate them on security best practices, including phishing prevention, password management, and data protection.•  Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) plans to minimize the impact of potential data loss or system downtime.•  Ensure regular testing of disaster recovery plans, including backup and restore procedures, to guarantee quick recovery of critical systems in the event of a major disruption.•  Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to ensure robust data backup, failover, and redundancy strategies are in place.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

•  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).•  3+ years of experience in IT security engineering, network security, or a related field.•  Hands-on experience with firewalls (Azure – Fortinet – Ubiquiti ), IDS/IPS, encryption, endpoint security, SIEM systems, and vulnerability scanning tools.•  Experience in performing security audits, risk assessments, and incident response.•  In-depth understanding of security protocols, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.•  Knowledge of vulnerability management, ethical hacking, and penetration testing.•  Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.•  Proficiency in security tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, Metasploit, Splunk, or similar.•  Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a Plus.
