IT Security Culture & Awareness Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Communications Specialist to join our dynamic Cyber team. In this role, you will have extensive experience in digital communications, and validated skills in the development of company-wide messaging. Knowledge in cyber security and excellent written, presentation and verbal skills with fluent English.

This role requires close collaboration with colleagues both within Cyber Security and IT functions across AstraZeneca’s Enterprise Services and Business Technology Groups (BTGs).

Accountabilities

Cyber Security Awareness Communications: Working across Cyber and the Cyber awareness team to develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness around cyber security threats. Drive best practice related to cyber safety, and continue to embed company policies among employees. This involves crafting and disseminating educational materials, coordinating training sessions, and using various communication channels to reach the workforce.  It will be important to act as a bridge between the Cyber world and the broader company to ensure that potentially complex scenarios are simplified for successful awareness and adoption

Crisis and Incident Communication: Collaborate with relevant partners to understand and distribute appropriate awareness communications following cyber security incidents or breaches. This may involve working closely with the cyber security team and/or incident response team to understand the nature of the incident or breach and craft the right messaging  to ensure that our company remains protected, whilst also protecting the sensitive aspect of some of these activities. 

Security Incident reporting and awareness: Educating employees on the importance of promptly reporting any suspicious activity and providing clear instruction as well as the communication channels for incident reporting.

Policy and Procedure Communication: Ensuring that employees are informed about cyber security policies, procedures, and updates and helping to embed cyber safety as part of our everyday approach. Working across different teams within Cyber and IT to understand existing policies and the update process to ensure that new additions are captured and appropriately highlighted to a broader audience.  This will mean collaborating through internal communication channels, such as intranet pages or newsletters, to keep the workforce informed about the latest cyber security guidelines.

Cyber Security Initiatives: Working closely with the cyber security team, IT department, and other relevant partners to align communication efforts around cyber security initiatives and organizational goals. May require participation in cross-functional team meeting to ensure that cyber security messages are consistent and distributed with an agreed cadence.

IT Security Culture & Awareness: Working closely within the wider team(s) to produce material, global campaigns and deliver awareness sessions. Developing and executing training programs and awareness campaigns to promote a cyber security-conscious culture within the organization. This could involve crafting engaging content, coordinating events, and measuring the effectiveness of these initiatives. Digital Platforms – Developing a range of materials that can be utilised by other teams to drive cyber safety as well as shared across our digital platforms such as AZ TV, Social platforms, and in person (dependent on location)

Consultancy: Act as a consultant to the Cyber Business Operations team on Business Technology Group awareness, helping to develop relevant communications and awareness campaigns to drive adoption of the new Cyber Security Portal.  This includes bringing awareness to the relevant people around the enhanced incident response channel. 

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Experienced in communicating across multiple layers of a large sophisticated organisation, recognising and being able to adapt communications based on the stakeholder

  • Experienced in developing content and delivering digital learning packages  for diverse global audiences.

  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal skills with fluent English.

  • Able to translate sophisticated information and data into impactful content. Confident creating engaging designs across multiple content types, such as PPT, video and audio.

  • Experienced in crafting global communications to support cultural change programmes in large global organisations.

  • Experienced in delivering engaging digital campaigns especially on social platforms like Meta Workplace and Intranet platforms

  • Experience in crisis communications, understanding the risk landscape and making informed decisions about how to disseminate appropriate information for a broader audience

  • Proven ability to work cross-team in a global environment.

  • Experience working in Cyber with a good understanding and vision of how cyber safety should be embedded into everyday culture

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • An understanding of cyber security risks, the principles of security governance, risk and controls

  • Project or programme management experience

  • Experience and involvement with IT transformation projects or programmes

  • A mindfulness towards accessible communications, taking into account a workforce who have different aptitudes for consuming information

  • Ability to understand the different personas that exist within AstraZeneca and develop content appropriately (mobile versus desktop for example)
