Manager, DevSecOps and SRE
Location: Tampa, FL preferred but will consider candidates within one of our other hub locations: Denver, CO; DC metro area, CA (Bay area), Austin, TX. Role will be hybrid.
The Manager, DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will lead a high-performing team of engineers and architects responsible for ensuring the availability, security, reliability, and scalability of Deepwatch’s cloud platforms and services. This role requires strong expertise driving security-first DevOps practices and operational excellence across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms. You will collaborate with application, cloud, security, and DevOps teams to implement cutting-edge automation, enforce security best practices, and optimize infrastructure. This team is responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing our cloud-hosted security platform.
In this role, you’ll get to do:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a technical vision and roadmap for DevSecOps and SRE initiatives, aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and communicate team priorities, setting clear expectations for technical and security-focused deliverables.
- Operational Excellence and Automation:
- Measure and monitor production systems focusing on availability, latency, and security posture.
- Drive automation-first approaches to managing cloud infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Own end-to-end performance and availability of critical services, implementing automated responses to improve resilience.
- Security-Driven DevOps Practices:
- Partner with infosec teams to enforce DevSecOps principles, including secure coding practices, automated vulnerability scanning, and compliance monitoring.
- Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure and application deployment workflows.
- Incident Response and Monitoring:
- Enhance incident detection and response processes by implementing advanced monitoring and alerting systems.
- Oversee on-call rotations, ensuring effective coverage and reducing mean time to recovery (MTTR) for critical issues.
- Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Management:
- Optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure) by configuring services such as EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, and VPCs for high availability, scalability, and security.
- Lead efforts to centralize operational data (e.g., Splunk licensing) into scalable storage solutions such as S3 for global deployment.
- Team Development and Collaboration:
- Mentor team members, bridging skill gaps and enabling career growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation between DevSecOps, SRE, and cloud teams, aligning cross-functional efforts to enhance service delivery and reliability.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Develop playbooks and scripts to standardize and enhance deployment, maintenance, and recovery workflows.
- Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to strengthen Deepwatch’s DevSecOps and SRE capabilities.
To succeed in this role you'll need:
- Proven experience in both DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering roles or similar technical fields.
- Expertise in cloud architectures (AWS and Azure) and automation frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience securing CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management solutions (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
- Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, and incident management best practices.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and influence cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing cloud costs, optimizing resource usage, and negotiating vendor agreements.
- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks, such as CIS benchmarks and vulnerability management practices.
Bonus skills:
- Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
- Experience in automating and securing workflows for cloud environments.
- Prior experience implementing security controls and compliance measures within cloud-based DevOps pipelines.
ITAR Compliance

The anticipated salary range for this role is $152,000 to $228,000 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
