This position serves as a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialist II performing assignments of a professional and intermediate level to support the daily operation of the Compliance Program. In this role you will utilize policies, standards, and procedures within Governance, Risk and Compliance to identify computer risks for all control domains, including network, system, data and application. In addition, you will conduct research and provide intermediate level reports to higher level staff. This position serves as a member of a team implementing security designs and approaches to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and recommend security changes to system or system components utilizing industry security frameworks and regulatory requirements such as FISMA/NIST, CIS, ISO, HIPAA. Essential Functions
⦁ Under general supervision, serves as a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialist II providing support to the GRC Program for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
⦁ Identifies computer risks for all control domains including network, system, data and application utilizing policies, standards, and procedures within Governance, Risk and Compliance.
⦁ Interprets patterns of non-compliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and overall effectiveness of the enterprise’s information assurance program.
⦁ Serves as a team member implementing security designs and approaches to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and recommend security changes to system or system components utilizing industry security frameworks and regulatory requirements such as FISMA/NIST, CIS, ISO, HIPAA.
⦁ Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field by continuing education through attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity and maintain current understanding of IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures.
⦁ Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
⦁ Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
⦁ Requires one (1) year of Systems Services or related Information Technology experience.
Preferred Qualifications
⦁ One (1) year of professional experience performing security compliance reviews within an IT environment.
⦁ One (1) year of professional experience using compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPPA or similar within a Governance, Risk, and Compliance division.
⦁ One (1) year of professional experience assessing compliance data to interpret patterns of non-compliance.
⦁ Working knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Federal Tax Information (FTI)
⦁ Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
⦁ Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
⦁ Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients and others.
⦁ Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
