About ProArch Technologies
ProArch, a rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP), specializes in supporting Critical Infrastructure, Manufacturing, and Healthcare sectors. We are seeking a Historian Integrator to play a key role in our OT (Operational Technology) projects, focusing on data management, process optimization, and security. This role involves working on new builds and complex migrations—primarily with AVEVA PI systems—to help clients modernize and optimize their operations.

Position Overview
As an Sr. Application Consultant, you will be responsible for the implementation, migration, and ongoing support of Historian systems for various clients. You will work closely with our engineering teams, OT support, and clients to ensure efficient and reliable data management from sensors to enterprise systems. Your work will focus on optimizing performance and ensuring that critical infrastructure operates securely and efficiently. Requirements

 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, Configure, and Implement Historian Systems: Architect, build and deploy new AVEVA PI infrastructures for various clients across industries, ensuring proper integration with client systems. This may include scoping client requirements and providing presales consulting.
  • Migration Projects: Execute seamless migration from legacy systems to modern AVEVA PI systems, following best practices for data integrity and system availability.
  • System Integration: Integrate AVEVA PI with existing Operational Technology (OT) systems, including SCADA and DCS, to enable real-time data collection and reporting.
  • Data Management: Configure and manage PI Tags, AF (Asset Framework) hierarchies, event frames, and notifications for efficient data flow and visualization.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, to gather requirements, propose solutions, and ensure project success.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct performance testing and resolve issues to optimize AVEVA PI system performance and reliability.
  • Training: Provide training to ensure clients understand how to use and maximize the value of their AVEVA PI System. Training sessions can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
  • Ongoing Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for AVEVA PI environments, including troubleshooting, system tuning, and performance monitoring.
  • Bonus Capability: Develop solutions that interoperate with OT data sets and transform them into meaningful OT intelligence. Knowledge and experience deploying other historian systems.

General Technology Expertise

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong experience with AVEVA PI System architecture, including Data Archive, AF Server, and PI Interface/Connector configurations.
    • Knowledge of PI Vision, PI ProcessBook, PI AF (Asset Framework), and PI DataLink for reporting and visualization.
    • Understanding of real-time data collection systems in industrial environments (SCADA, DCS, OPC, Modbus, BACnet, Matrikon Tunneller).
    • Knowledge of other historian systems and integration: EtaPRO, Wonderware, Proficy, etc.
    • Familiarity with industrial protocols and automation platforms, including PLC, RTU, and HMI systems.

ICS / OT Experience and Skills

  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AVEVA PI system implementation and support.
    • Proven experience in executing system migrations from older versions of PI to the latest AVEVA suite.
    • Experience in working with OT data, industrial IoT solutions, or in the energy, manufacturing, or healthcare sectors.
    • Experience in providing technical leadership and support for presales activities.
    • Familiarity with other data historians, PLCs, and SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Experience with cloud environments, especially Azure and hybrid architectures.
    • AVEVA PI certification or relevant industry certifications.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in OT environments.
    • Experience working in an MSP or with a variety of clients across industries.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Ability to interface with clients remotely, over the phone, and on-site.
    • Write and maintain technical documentation of configurations, procedures, and systems.

Education and Certification Requirements:

 

  • Certifications:
    • At least some relevant certifications in AVEVA, Microsoft, VMware, Security (e.g., CISSP), and Industry Specific (GCIP, SANS) are highly desirable but not required.
  • Education:
    • A bachelor's in a relevant field is desirable but not required.
    • Minimum five (5) years performing majority of the Key Responsibilities above.
