As a Security Engineer, you'll be building software and engineering solutions to advance our cyber security capabilities and resilience. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from both home and the office premises.

 

 

About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, corporate security, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of a wider company Security Team, the Cyber Defence Engineering team has the mission to monitor, detect, and report cyber security-related threats targeting Swiss Re. We are looking for a Security Engineer who will help us to introduce new tools and relevant features, and to improve our security capabilities.

 

 

In your role, you will… 

  • Be responsible for Endpoint Detection and Response technologies
  • Assess and implement new security features, configurations and EDR products in the organisation
  • Align with incident response, threat intelligence, and other relevant teams to achieve defined objectives and key results
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure EDR coverage within all relevant systems
  • Work closely with other security professionals, including analysts and incident responders, to ensure the EDR systems are integrated into the organisation's overall security program
  • Foster sound DevSecOps practices to continuously develop and improve the platform
  • Continuously learn and expand knowledge of information security best practices
  • Be someone who believes in continuous innovation, is curious and relentless in finding a better way everyday   
  • Contribute to Swiss Re's Healthy and transparent risk culture where everyone engages in continuous risk accountability activities.

 

 

Your qualifications

What we need from you

  • Knowledge of and proven skills in configuring/administrating cyber security services, with a specific focus on Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools and technologies 
  • Approach to work with a consistent DevSecOps mindset
  • Knowledge of major public cloud ecosystems and platforms (Microsoft Azure) as well as private cloud
  • Deployment and management of industry-standard operating systems (Linux, Windows, in particular)
  • Information security foundational concepts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)

 

 

Nice-to-have

  • Working history of Microsoft’s security suite of applications and platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and versioning control tools (Git, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with IaC/IaaC/Containerisation technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
  • Familiarisation with Python/Bash/PowerShell programming languages
  • Knowledge of Agile working methodologies
  • Experience working as a security analyst or incident responder (in a SOC/CSIRT/on-call setup)

 

 

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 42,000] and [EUR 70,000] (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus
