The Enterprise Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data protection strategies and technical processes/controls to safeguard the organization’s sensitive information. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution and implement comprehensive data discovery and classification technologies to aid in larger data protection operations.
Metadata Repository: Design, build, and maintain a centralized metadata repository.
Ensure metadata is correctly integrated across various data systems and platforms.
Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments.
Monitor and respond to security incidents.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection guidelines.
Collaborate with IT and legal teams to continuously improve data protection capabilities.
Provide training and awareness programs for employees on data protection practices.
Maintain and update data protection documentation and records.
Stay current with emerging data protection trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in data protection, information security, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001).
Experience with data protection tools and technologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP) are a plus.
Skills:
Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of information security principles and practices.
Expertise in Data Protection, Data Governance, Data Loss Prevention, Data Discovery, Data Classification
and Metadata Management
Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and metrics management skills
Strong leadership abilities.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
