The Role

We are seeking a Head of IT & Security who thrives on working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. This is a senior leadership position in the Technology organisation reporting directly to the CTO. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping our IT strategy while ensuring the security and integrity of our company's data, core network, and platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT and security strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the operations of the company's IT department, including infrastructure, networking, and technical support.
  • Lead the design and execution of security protocols and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure the protection of digital assets and the integrity of network, platform, and data.
  • Liaise with the relevant corporate teams such as compliance and legal especially around legislation changes to ensure compliance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors including contract negotiation and risk management.
  • Direct IT projects to ensure they meet company goals for business and technology.
  • Develop and control the IT and Security department's annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide leadership to IT and Security staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an IT leadership role, preferably within a software or telecoms company.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development processes, network operations, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of IT and security strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of data management, including data backup, protection, and recovery techniques.
  • Understanding of regulations, and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, TISAX, or Cloud Security Alliance audit standards and implementation of controls.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and environments.
  • Proficiency in working with advanced network security tools.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Telecommunications experience, especially in network engineering and connectivity a distinct advantage.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CISM, CISSP, or similar will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Lean\Agile methodologies and DevOps environments.
  • An understanding of AI and Machine Learning algorithms and their implications for data security.
  • Knowledge of information security forensics, handling, logging and open source or automated incident response programs
