We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Technology Risk and Compliance to join our team.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Risk and Compliance, the Senior Analyst will partner with and support a designated portfolio consisting of multiple business units, and strategic partners, to drive consistency in managing technology risk activities, processes and reporting, while continuously promoting technology risk culture across the organization.

This role will also support key compliance activities aligned with the Technology Controls Program, and respective audits, ensuring that risks and ineffective controls are appropriately identified, remediation plans or strategies are developed, and both are closed in the agreed timelines.

 

What you will do 

  • Assist in providing a holistic view of technology risk across the organization by establishing and maintaining technology risk management governance, technology risk & controls framework and technology & risk management processes. 
  • Tracks, receives updates and consolidates the remediation progress on all technology issues, audit findings, and policy / standard exceptions across the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports to highlight portfolio risk posture, while ensuring that 2nd and 3rd line partners receive updates accordingly.
  • Provide guidance to Technology teams in the design, implementation, and continuous monitoring of controls that reduce a broad spectrum of technology operational risks.
  • Assist in ongoing review and monitoring of compliance with policies and standards and enforce compliance with policies and standards across all levels of the organization, managing exceptions in accordance with the establish Risk Management framework.
  • Support the risk reviews of key initiatives and projects, leveraging internal established assessment tools.
  • Support the Technology Risk & Control identification process across the entire Canada Life organization.
  • Support 2nd Line in their review and challenge of 1st Line risk processes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in key technology risk management areas such as information security, operations, IT Resiliency, and technology delivery.
  • Foster, advocate for and strengthen Canada Life’s overall technology risk posture.
  • Support both regulatory and internal audit compliance activities related but not limited to SOC 2 and ISO 27001; 27017, and ICOFR.

  What you will bring 

  • 3 – 5 years of progressive experience within the field of technology risk and compliance.
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with business teams and foster relationships through collaboration, influencing change, and building consensus.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities under time pressure without compromising quality.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and translate information security risk in the context of what it means to achieving business objectives. 
  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in Risk Management, Information Security, Computer Science, Business Technology or equivalent.
  • One or more of the following certifications in a good standing considered an asset: CRISC, CISA, CISM and/or CISSP. 
  • Good understanding of the 3 Lines of Defence model, with the ability to manage and engage stakeholders across each of the lines.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with GRC platforms and issue management processes. 
  • Familiarity with technology and security risk, regulatory compliance (OSFI), and industry best practice frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO standards). 
  • Constant learner with a desire to enhance knowledge in technology risk governance.

The base salary for this position is between  $61,900.00 - $103,200.00 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
