Job Summary
The IT Security Manager is responsible to provide leadership for Information Technology (IT) cybersecurity and data security initiatives ensuring alignment with business goals and risk thresholds. They will inform and oversee implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across WEC Energy Group and ensure enterprise technology and information assets are adequately protected. In addition, this position will identify, evaluate, report and facilitate mitigation of cybersecurity risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the enterprise.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity best practices to protect enterprise information technology and data assets to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.
- Inform the company’s five year cybersecurity strategy, develop projects to achieve the plan and manage annual budget.
- Foster an enterprise culture of security through effective cybersecurity awareness, policy and procedures.
- Facilitate the investigation of cybersecurity events and incidents, including coordination with legal and outside experts to determine actions to contain, control and remediate cybersecurity incidents.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess effectiveness of cybersecurity measures, exercise and respond to cybersecurity threats.
- Ensure procedures and processes to capture evidence to support internal cybersecurity controls and external regulatory compliance requirements.
- Develop and manage a technically strong and project oriented support team of cybersecurity professionals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years IT experience with a minimum of 5 years security leadership
- Experience serving as cyber and information security leadership in complex organizations.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment while engaging internal and external stakeholders in meaningful discussion while balancing the sensitive nature of information.
- Proven ability to develop talent and assemble a highly effective team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, business management or engineering.
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
- Ability to get Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “secret” clearance.

Pay Range Minimum: $130,637.00
Pay Range Maximum: $195,955.76
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
