Position Summary

We are seeking a well-versed Security Administrator to join the SEI Security group.

This role will be part of the OCOS (Office of the Chief of Staff) Security Services Team, with responsibilities including office management and administrative assistance, maintain the team budget and processing travel requests, expense reports, and overseeing procurement.  This position will serve as a backup to the SEI badge office and will be a key member of the SEI Security team operating in the SEI secure facilities.

Requirements

  • Working Conditions:
    1. Required to respond to emergency situations remotely or onsite within a designated timeframe. 
    2. Required to work normal business hours; evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.

  • Accountability: Accountable for the successful completion of individual goals and priorities. Must be accountable for operational results of a work unit or department.

  • Direction: Receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.  Establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals.

Duties:

 General Office Management

  • Setting up and maintaining complex file systems

  • Supporting Staff travel and expense reporting

  • Attending departmental meetings, may serve on inter-departmental committees

Maintaining SEI Security team Budget

  • Handling purchase requests and expenses to ensure SEI Security team are staying on budget and procuring necessary equipment and services.

Administrative Assistance

  • Coordinating meetings, logistics, and resources

  • Maintain calendars

  • Maintaining draft correspondence, reports, and other documents for supervisor signature

Security Badging

  • Will operate as backup for SEI badge office

  • Create and update SEI badges for SEI employees and associates

  • Update access control and trouble shoot access issues

Security Team Liaison

  • Represent the Security Team as liaison with other SEI and university departments i.e. Budget Office, Facilities, Human Resources, and other outside organizations.

  • Assist in the research, preparation and processing of information

 
Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge and Learning: You are a skilled and organized administrator, and you are eager to learn about the work that the Security Services team supports at the SEI.
 

Other Requirements

  • High school diploma with 5-8 years administrative and accounting experience

  • You will be subject to a background check investigation.

  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.

  • You will be subject to a background investigation and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
