Information Security AdministratorJob Duck is a virtual staffing company that matches candidates to work from home for a single U.S.-based business, in most cases a law firm.
The Information Security Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining an organization's cybersecurity framework. This includes protecting information systems from unauthorized access, identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating security risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. The role involves monitoring network activity, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with various teams to maintain a secure IT environment.Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
Security Monitoring and Incident Response
Monitor systems activity to detect and respond to security threats and breaches.
Investigate security incidents, analyze logs, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain and update incident response plans and protocols.
Access Control and Policy Enforcement
Manage user access and permissions in line with security policies.
Ensure compliance with security policies across all IT systems and departments.
Regularly review and update access control systems and protocols.
Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Work with IT teams to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities.
Keep systems patched and up-to-date to mitigate risks.
Cybersecurity Tools and Systems Management
Configure, manage, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Evaluate and implement new security technologies and tools.
Training and Awareness
Develop and deliver cybersecurity training for employees.
Promote awareness of phishing and social engineering threats across the organization.
Audit Support
Assist with internal security audits and assessments.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, and response actions.
Provide regular reports on security metrics, vulnerabilities, and incidents to management.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have the following:
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Certifications (Advantageous):
CompTIA Security+
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
Experience:
2+ years in information security or related IT roles.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
