Cyber Security /Info Assurance Engineer

Position Description: PingWind is seeking a Cyber Security/ Information Assurance Engineer (IAE) in support of the G6 Cybersecurity Staff, HRC, Fort Knox, KY. Duties include implementing the DoD Assess and Authorize (A&A) process IAW DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT). The RMF process will be implemented and maintained in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS) NIPR and SIPR instances. The IAE will generate Executive reports through eMASS and make them available to the ISs appointed Authorizing Official (AO) and the Program Information Systems Security Manager (P-ISSM), upon request via the report format requested by the AO/P-ISSM.
Primary Responsibilities:Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Technical understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model in relation to meeting DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) Net worthiness/Net-Ready requirements.• Strong written and verbal communications skills.• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, providing IA guidance to other engineers.• Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.• Analyze potential threats and recommend mitigation strategies.• Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CMMC).• Design and implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into system architecture.• Respond to security breaches or incidents by investigating and mitigating threats.• Develop and implement response plans for potential cybersecurity events.• Monitor systems for unusual activity, anomalies, or potential threats using tools like SIEM.
