As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team’s strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team’s actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division.

The Manager for Operational Technology Security Engineering leads their team in developing and executing a strategy to secure IIoT, IoT, ICS, and OT devices throughout our environment.  This role partners with multiple teams across IT to develop a prioritized, dependency, and resourced informed plan by following through to delivery. The manager will get the opportunity to build this program from the ground up and standardize the way Costco does IIoT, IoT, and OT security.

ROLE

●      MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Coaches and mentors employees to provide support and guidance. Has regular open and honest conversations with employees to discuss work performance and career development. Identifies learning opportunities to strengthen employee knowledge, skill and ability.

●      COMMUNICATION: Regularly shares information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations. Successfully navigates difficult conversations with employees, members, and suppliers. Listens, expresses empathy and adapts to get points across. Addresses issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and to avoid escalating the situation. Consistently demonstrates business knowledge during interactions with senior management.

●      Assesses all project information to understand the scope, the current IT and business environment, objectives, and priorities.

●      Maintains detailed documentation outlining the proposed direction, risks, considerations, etc.

●      Analyzes technical risks and advises on risk mitigation strategies.

●      Identifies teams and services needed based on the problem / ask.

●      Identifies gaps in Information Security strategy, policies, and standards, and works with internal teams to correct.

●      Researches current and emerging security technologies and proposes changes where needed.

●      This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).

REQUIRED

●      Previous experience with IIoT, IoT, Industrial Control Systems, and Operating Technology devices/management platforms.

●      Understanding of security fundamentals within different areas of expertise (Networking, Endpoint, Logging, Identity, etc.).

●      Demonstrate poise and creativity while working with leadership, engineers, and SMEs in different domain spaces to come to a common solution.

●      Excellent leadership skills and experience in driving teams to determine resolution paths / solutions.

●      Excellent verbal and written communication skills (facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution), with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

●      Team player with proven ability to work effectively within a large organization that operates using a matrix organization.

●      Ability to communicate trade-offs and transactional states with technical and business teams.

●      Ability to work effectively; independent of assistance or supervision.

●      Ability to work under pressure in a highly team focused environment.

●      Innovative, creative, and extremely responsive with a strong sense of urgency.

●      Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented.

●      Proven ability to set and follow priorities and timeline.

●      Ability to build lasting trusted partnerships across various functional areas and technical disciplines.

●      Willingness to travel to manufacturing locations when necessary.

Recommended

●      A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years’ information security experience with a focus on security engineering and implementation.

●      One or more professional security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent.

●      Experience with Zero Trust Implementation.

●      Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Range: $137,000 - $200,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
