Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a combination of two or more industry recognized certifications such as CEH, CISM, CISA, CISSP, Security+, CySA+
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of information technology and/or information security.
- IT Industry\infosec certification(s) and/or advanced infosec training classes hosted by SANS, FEMA, etc.
Preferences:
- Vulnerability management or audit experience
- Industry certifications above and beyond the Security+
- Cyber security incident response experience
- Experience as a team lead or supervisor
- Public speaking or training experience
- Customer service experience

This position requires approximately 25% travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees Cyber Navigators and their objectives in support of Department’s partner agencies across the State of Florida. Coordinates Navigators for audit programs, training programs, incident response, critical dates, and other needs.
Provides supervisory responsibilities and direction to staff and is responsible for staff training, motivation, evaluation, and effective use of staff resources. Coordinates technical support priorities and determines the allocation of available resources.
Cyber Navigators work closely with Florida Department of State election security partners including elected and appointed Supervisors of Elections officials in each County to provide oversight and guidance on matters of cyber security and related concerns. Tasks include managing remediation efforts and incident coordination efforts between Counties and State and Federal Partners as well as working with Supervisors to create policies that will govern election security and cyber security operations at the County and State level. Cyber Navigators assess security postures and assist Counties in resolving any potential concerns discovered during assessments and serve as cyber security subject matter experts at the disposal of the Supervisors of Elections and the Florida Department of State. These duties often include access to sensitive, confidential, or otherwise restricted data under State and Federal law that all Cyber Navigators agree to protect and handle in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Guidance from Cyber Navigators to Supervisors of Elections may include, but is not limited to, training sessions, architecture review and assistance, and incident handling.
Provides support to Department’s partner organizations in support of their critical infrastructure security objectives including system architecture, incident coordination, vulnerability management, training, and hosted security service management. Ensures equal representation and support for all partner organizations in their assigned territory.
Conducts audits and vulnerability checks to support Department and partner organization security and compliance needs for critical infrastructure security.
Works with the Department’s internal security staff in support of Department security objectives.
Perform other related duties as required by the Department and partner organizations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Familiarity with:
- Vulnerability diagnostic tools such as Tenable Nessus and Nmap.
- Information security standards
- Intelligence reporting and documentation and report creation.
- Election security best practices.
- Critical infrastructure security programs.
- Public speaking and training.
- Incident response tools and techniques.
- Evolving security technologies including: NGFWs, EDR, and related security systems.
