Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Consultant in Cybersecurity to enrich our cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in cybersecurity and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects. You will work closely with clients to assess their cybersecurity needs, develop comprehensive strategies, and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks and enhance security posture.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Lead cybersecurity engagements with customers

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and frameworks tailored to client needs, aligning with industry standards and best practices.

  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.

  • Engage in transformational programmes with internal and external customers

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security architectures and solutions.

  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to customers on cybersecurity best practices.

  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends and technologies, and share insights with clients and internal teams.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on cybersecurity matters.

  • Mentor, train and manage junior consultants and cybersecurity team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing, bid submissions, market intelligence gathering, customer relationship management and networking.

Skills and Expertise

  • A degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity consulting or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices as they apply to IT and OT environments.

  • Working experience of a Secure-by-Design engineering approach

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical issues and devise effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated project management abilities, with experience handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

  • An understanding of the threats arising from the exploitation of vulnerabilities in the attack surfaces created across products and systems and how these can be managed

  • Understanding of how to secure a network using technologies and security protocols

  • Ability to undertake vulnerability assessments of networks and devices using tools and databases to produce a contextualised list of vulnerabilities

  • Produce security architecture design documents which incorporate an analysis of potential risks and recommend pragmatic security controls

  • Production of security risks through identification of vulnerabilities, assessment of exposure, likelihood and severity of the risk in a quantitative or qualitative format that follows an industry recognised risk assessment methodology

  • Ability to analyse information and produce reports, network diagrams and recommendations on how to improve security posture

  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.  Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.  In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
